Reliable Tires Services
Keeping your vehicle’s tires in good shape is just as important in the spring and summer as in winter and fall.
Worn tread decreases traction in the rain just as it does in the snow. Those who switch from winter to summer tires also need to ensure the summer tires have enough tread and are worn evenly.
Little Wolf Automotive in Antigo, Waupaca, and Plover, WI can check your tires and provide tire repair, rotation, and installation. We will also check the tire pressure and provide tire sales if you need new tires.

Tire Rotation
Part of checking tires is to look for uneven wear and signs that the tire is separating.
If the tires look good, rotate them to keep the wear even and prolong the tires’ life. When we remove the tires to rotate them, it also gives us a chance to check the brakes.
If the tires have noticeable uneven wear or feathering, most likely you need an alignment, and you possibly have suspension issues.
Our experienced auto technicians at Little Wolf Automotive in Waupaca, Plover, and Antigo, WI will let you know if you need anything.
Tire Repair
Sometimes, things happen, like a screw or nail in a tire. You can plug or patch it instead of replacing the tire, as long as it is not in the sidewall. However, the tire cannot be repaired if the hole is too big, like a tire blowout when you hit a pothole or run over glass pieces.
The tire also can’t be repaired if it is separated. This happens when a bubble forms between tread layers, the tread and sidewall, or the layers making up the sidewall. Sometimes, the bubble pops, and the tread or sidewall tears. A separated tire must then be replaced.
Our techs in Waupaca, Antigo, and Plover, WI can check the tires for uneven wear, holes, and separation to ensure that you’re safe while driving.
Tire Pressure
It’s easier for many people to check tire pressure themselves. But if you’re not comfortable doing it, stop by one of our express lube locations in Antigo, Plover, or Waupaca, WI, and we’ll do the checking for you.
Incorrect tire pressure affects steering and fuel economy. It also causes the tires to wear faster. The proper pressure is stamped on the sidewall of the tire.
Too much tire pressure
It’s easier to lose control of the vehicle if tires have too much air pressure. This happens as the tire has less tread in contact with the road.
Too much tire pressure also causes the tire to develop a wear mark down the center of the tire.
Too little tire pressure
Tires with low air pressure affect fuel mileage since they don’t roll as easily on the road.
They also wear unevenly. Usually, a tire with low pressure wears on the inside and outside edges of the tread. The wear pattern is almost always even on both sides of the tire.
The certified auto mechanics at Little Wolf Automotive at all our three locations in Waupaca, Plover, and Antigo, WI will be happy to check the tire pressure for you and adjust it if necessary.

The Best Time to Switch from Winter Tires to Summer Tires
Some people prefer to switch from winter to summer tires and vice versa. You don’t want to put the winter tires on too early and don’t want to leave them on too late in the spring. However, you also don’t want to change back to summer tires too early.
The best time to change tires is usually mid-October and late April. Watching the forecast helps determine when you should switch tires, then it’s a matter of showing up at one of our locations when it’s time.
